Besides being impressed with how many of these terms are included in both an Ivy League resource and the vocabulary of most 12-year old boys, I think it is appropriate to name this website in accordance with the milksop. I firmly believe that western society is driving everyone, men and women alike, to become a big bunch of milksops.
I also believe that milksoppery is neither beneficial nor desirable. Plagues such as extraneous litigation, overly-sensitive political-correctness, and fiscal irresponsibility are symptoms of this societal ill.
I am not a tea partier. I am not overly liberal or moderate. Socially, I believe in equal rights for everyone. In fact, I believe that being too concerned with what everyone else is doing is a symptom of greater milksoppery.
I have chosen the now-venerable blog format for my rants and raves because I believe "tweeting" is for Milksops. If you view a 140 character restriction as a good thing, you probably are not only a milksop, but a simpleton as well.
In 1841, Ralph Waldo Emerson said in his essay Self-Reliance:
Society everywhere is in conspiracy against the manhood of every one of its members.
My, what a visionary time has proven Mr. Emerson to be.
